c-bus Video Switcher
The video switcher has been designed to allow a number of manned sites to be linked together in
a single installation, improving both the ease of installation and its overall effectiveness. There
are a number of c-bus accessories that can be connected in a typical system configuration; c-bus
Alarm Adapter, PIR, Telemetry Receivers, e-support, PC control, c-bus multiplexers as well as
the video switcher. A typical system configuration is as shown in Figure 1.
The c-bus operator keyboards have the Multi-Port Control (MPC) option as standard and can be
selected to control any of the 16 multiplexers connected to the system, the video switcher
switches between the multiplexers as selected from the operator keyboard.
The video switcher is assigned to a keyboard and follows the commands of the keyboard i.e.
Select multiplexer 4 of the system and display CAM 6 full screen on the desktop monitor and the
manned site. Therefore, it effectively shares the same c-bus address as the keyboard.
Each video switcher provides 2 monitor outputs and eight monitor inputs (from up to four Uniplex
Multiplexers main and spot monitors).
The video switcher is available as either composite or S-VHS depending on the installation.
